Thanks to a wonderful blogger, Mandy Scarr, I was FINALLY able to join an {in}courager group! I started reading the {in}courage blog about a year ago and was hooked from day 1. There are many (insert at least 10 "many"s here) blogs that I enjoy reading, but what I love about theirs is that I get a bunch of favorite bloggers in one place, find new bloggers to follow (aka "media-stalk") AND a lot of "me too" moments. In our social media filled world, where a majority of our statuses (me too) reflect our highlight reel, this is a place where I have found the {in}couragement I needed.
I'll be joining the Mentoring for Moms. There were so many great groups that I wanted to join, but alas, I could only choose one. I thought about the group that I wanted to be a part of in this season of my life and as a new SAHM, I'm re-learning the ins and outs of being "just a mom." I don't use those words lightly, but if you knew my life before "just being a mom," it was chaotic, stressful, and exhausting to point of illness, but now it's just chaotic, stressful, and exhausting. To be with a group of women who are and who have walked through this season will be the extra dose of encouragement that I need. And I hope you will find that too in whichever group you decide to join.
Mandy gives a little rundown about how to get involved and what is involved in these groups here. She and her friend, Abbey, will be leading the New and Expectant Mommies group. There are groups for all our different seasons.
You may have some questions about the groups, so here is a brief run-down and I mean brief:
When do I sign up?: NOW! Registration opened today. So get on it. Some groups, particularly the writer groups, have already filled up. I don't want you miss out on this opportunity and have to wait for the next session.
When does it start?: February 3rd, which is NEXT week!! Can you believe we're already done with January? I'm still recovering from the New Year.
If this was too brief for you, please head on over to the FAQs to get more info.
There is so much to share about {in}courage, but the best way for you to discover what it's all about is to give it a shot. You can sign up for their daily feed, which goes straight to your inbox. So if you're like me and don't always have the time to go to the site, but do have a few minutes to scan your email, you won't miss a thing. What do you have to lose? If anything, you'll receive that boost of {in}couragement and grace we all so desperately need.
