Devos. Devotionals. Time with Jesus. Quiet time. Bible study.
Whatever you want to call it, spending time in the Word is important. But trust me Mamas, I feel ya. It can be difficult to squeeze that time in. I know it's hard getting up earlier than the kids. Mine wake up between 6-6:30 AM. That means for me to get some really good quiet time, I have to get up, be showered, and sitting at the table by 5:30 AM. That's early for this mama. Really, it is. I'm a night owl.
But wait! Who said devos need to be done in the wee hours of the morning? No. One. You can do them whenever YOU want to do them. Pick a time and a place and do them. Is it going to happen everyday? Maybe not. But when it does, it's like warm sunshine covering you. It's THAT good!
I was so excited to see what other Mamas have on their devo list because I'm always looking for something new, something challenging. And it's all worth it; To feel uncomfortable in my sin. I don't want to be comfortable sitting in my poopy diaper of sin. I want to be changed and dang it, I will cry till I'm changed.

Ok, I REALLY heart Jen Hatmaker. She makes you feel like you're her bestie. She speaks to my heart in a loving way and I, well, I love it! In this book, she walks you through HOW TO STUDY THE BIBLE. It's a novel concept, right? She gives you so many little nuggets to work through to use THE BIBLE as your devo. It's a 5-week study on how to study the Bible and she even includes a couple of reading schedules to get you started.

#SheReadsTruth
I first found out about #SheReadsTruth from YouVersion. It's basically a GIANT small group. They always have a plan going on that you can participate in real time. They also have past plans that you can review. You can get the app (it is available in all formats) or you can go online. You read the scripture and then the devo and participate with the hashtage #SheReadsTruth to share in the community. Join up now. They're only on Day 2 of their current plan O Come Let Us Adore Him.
Patience: God's Wisdom for Moms
Patience. Yeah, not my strong suite when it comes to my kids. I chose this 8-day study to realign myself. I don't know about you, but these past couple of weeks have been straining my patience. So when I found it, I was immediately drawn to it. Like #SheReadsTruth, you read the devotional and then scripture. I love the prompts to help me journal because sometimes, coffee doesn't get my brain thinking in the morning. Maybe I should start my NingXia Nitro. Any way, it has been a great 3 days thus far and I'm looking forward to seeing what God has to teach me. He is my Refuge. He is my Redeemer. What is He to you today?
