So I came across the article, "11 Things to Improve Life Right Now."
I'm pretty good at a lot of these, but I couldn't do it without the support of my Man. Even before I became a SAHM, he encouraged me to get out and have time to myself. He lets me sleep in on his days off and gets the kids going in the mornings. He encourages friendships and Mom's Night Out. And he even suggested we rent a hotel room for the weekend where each of us get to spend the night there, ALONE...without each other, and just be. Having that time to not have any responsibilities is sooo nice. We've also decided, at least every other month, that we will spend the night away from the kids or have them go to a friend's house. We were so blessed recently to have that time away and boy, it was AMAZING to be together doing NOTHING!
But hey, there is ALWAYS room for improvement. I want to work on #5 and #10. I want to be a source of encouragement and I want to be encouraged. Personally I have been struggling with finding a mentor since I left California over 8 years ago. This is a relationship that is so important for me to have, but I haven't been able to find that person that I can connect with on that level. But maybe it's me comparing them to my old mentor...hmmm.
I encourage all of you to MAKE and TAKE time to rejuvenate and revive your body, soul, and mind. It'll make you a happier person, spouse, and parent.
Which steps do you want to work on? I'd love to hear from you!
